Why We Relaunched
When Noami DeVore and I launched The Training Data Project website in April 2024, we had no idea how quickly things would take off. In a short time, we found ourselves presenting at more conferences than we thought possible, co-authoring papers with colleagues, and talking with more government and industry leaders than we could count.
At almost every event, people asked the same question: How can we work with you more?
Sometimes it was for a technical opinion. Other times it was a collaboration request or an invitation to solve a difficult AI problem. Those conversations made one thing clear: people wanted more than a discussion. They wanted ways to build with us for the long term.
From Interest to Action
That is what this reboot is about. We are putting structure behind the conversations so we can turn interest into impact. By becoming a DC-based woman-owned small business, we can now:
Partner with trusted teams to solve complex AI and data problems.
Bid on more work and open doors to new opportunities.
Help other companies grow in the Federal AI space, whether that means building data pipelines, designing testing and evaluation frameworks, fine-tuning models, or running adversarial assurance.
This step allows us to bring in more expertise, tackle harder problems, and deliver results that last.
Leading With AI Value Science
One theme we have developed has become central to our work: AI Value Science. Our award-winning paper, Enabling Measurable Success in DoD AI Programs from Acquisition to Operations, co-authored with my colleagues Tim Klawa and Kenneth Rhodes, made a simple but urgent point: to succeed in AI, you must measure cost, performance, risk, and outcomes across the entire pipeline.
That is how you deliver real ROI. That is how you separate hype from value. And that is the principle we are building into everything we do.
The Secure Core AI Idea Factory
My background as an educator, combined with Noami’s leadership and our team’s technical depth, has allowed us to design programs that prepare Federal partners for the future. The timing matters. The next 24 months will be an inflection point for AI in Federal, State, and Local government. The DoD and Intelligence Community are adopting AI at speed, and the demand for lean, high-impact solutions has never been greater.
Built on Trust
On a personal level, this move is also about working with people we trust. Over the past year, we have been fortunate to collaborate with friends, colleagues, and partners who share our mission. Some collaborations lasted weeks, others months, but the throughline was the same: great people, great ideas, tackling hard problems, and leading by example.
And yes, in case you did not know, Noami DeVore and I are married. People often ask what it is like to work with your spouse, especially when she is the CEO. The truth is simple: it works because trust and integrity are at the center. We balance each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and we are both deeply committed to helping our partners and community succeed.
What We Believe
We believe in AI, but in doing it right. That means building AI in a way that brings out the best of human-machine teaming. It means starting with data, because the quality and integrity of that data will determine the trustworthiness of any system.
We also believe everyone has to step up. It is our government. It is our country. And it will take all of us—large and small businesses, program managers, integrators, researchers, and communities—to ensure AI delivers measurable, lasting impact.
A New Day for TDP
So here we are: a rebooted website, a woman-owned small business based in DC, and a clear mission. Our focus is simple: AI Value Science. Proof is the next power, and measurable value from day one is how we will deliver it.
We are here to work with you—whether you are a government program manager, a prime integrator, a small business, or a DC resident with a big idea.
